The Granite Belt Alternative Wine Trail was launched in 2007, with new varieties and strange bird wineries added to the trail each vintage. This tour is perfect for those who like something different, for those with a sense of adventure and those who want to educate their palate.

Ridgemill estate is located in the heart of the Granite Belt in Queensland’s premium wine growing region. The vineyard is orientated north to south to make the most of the sun’s rays to ripen the bunches slowly and evenly to produce distinctive, rich and flavoursome wines from the cool climate region.
Granite Ridge Wines, is situated in the highlands of the Ballandean Valley, in the heart of Queensland’s premier wine district, the Granite Belt. Have a bit of fun as you sample some unique wines in a quirky setting. Meet the winemaker, Dennis and discover why this area is ideal for the Strange Bird varieties, and if you enjoy them that much why not walk away with Granite Ridge’s Strange Bird sampler pack.
12:30pm: LUNCH AND A TASTE – HIDDEN CREEK
A wine tasting and scrumptious two course meal awaits you. Their knowledgeable staff will take you through their extensive list of wines, featuring elegant whites, serious reds, the ever popular pink moscato and alternative varieties such as Tempranillo, Verdelho and Viognier. After your tasting, you couldn’t ask for more as you sit down to enjoy your meal and take in the breathtaking, natural beauty that has been bestowed upon this vineyard.
Join Tim and Michelle for a tasting in their quaint 1920’s Queenslander cellar door. This small, high quality vineyard produces amazing wines that are all dry grown. One of the key philosophies to Twisted Gum is use of sustainable agricultural practices. The result is premium quality wine which is shaped by the climate, soil and hard work.
Chilli in Stanthorpe, part of the Masons Wines Café/Cellar door is your final stop. You will get to sample a wide range of jams, chutneys and spreads, including a selection of quality chilli sauces ranging from mild for the less brave out there, through to the hotter sauces, for those who like to spice things up. This stop is the perfect end to the day where you have the chance to take home some fine local products to reminisce on your experience from Grape to Glass.

Prices are for pick up at approximately 9:30am at one pick up and drop off location returning at approximately 4:30pm.
