Satisfy your taste buds and sit amongst the 150 year old wine barrels whilst you dine at ‘the barrelroom’ situated in the heart of Ballandean Estate Wines, one of the oldest and largest wineries on the Granite Belt. Combining French training and progressive Australian fare, ‘the barrel room’ has composed a menu with the seasons to celebrate the offerings of the Granite Belt and surrounds. Situated in the beautiful rugged high altitude hills of Queensland’s Granite Belt at 980 metres above sea level, Hidden Creek has hot summers and bitterly cold winters. This climate together with the arid granite rocky soils draws similar comparisons to inland European regions such as northern Spain, the inland south west of France around Cahors and Gaillac, and the upper Rhone Valley in France. These regions have a tradition of delicious characterful wines that are wonderful accompaniments to food. At Hidden Creek we have adopted the inspiration of these regions.
